Chloe DolphinI am a Secondary English specialist currently working at York High School as Communications Faculty Leader. This role involves line-managing the English, Performing Arts and MFL departments and working with Subject Leaders to improve the quality of teaching and learning and raise student achievement. My previous role as an Outreach Teacher involved working closely with schools in challenging circumstances, via School to School support, in order to address weaknesses identified by Ofsted and improve outcomes for students. Prior to this, I held various leadership roles at subject and pastoral level, including 2 i/c English, KS3 Leader of English and Director of Learning.

I am passionate about English and working with others to share best practice and improve outcomes and the aspirations of future generations of young people across the Alliance.




Nicola GoodwillI am currently Subject Leader for English at Huntington School in York, having spent the previous 11 years at Fulford School, in a variety of roles, within English and more widely; most recently, as Acting Assistant Head for Progress/Intervention. I believe the key to raising achievement is in the classroom; as we move forward in this period of change, we need to ensure that our practice remains current, informed by the best evidence available. I am outward looking, whilst sensitive to the individual needs of each school; however, by working collaboratively, building upon the excellent practice we have in the city and beyond, I know that we can ensure our students achieve the very best they can. My own personal areas of interest and expertise include intervention, effective feedback, and KS4 curriculum development.
