The secondary CPD offer is designed to cover five distinct areas:
- Subject Leaders
- Whole School Leadership
- Support Staff
- Teaching & Learning and Career Progression
- Meeting the Needs
1. Subject Leaders:
A series of events for Subject Leaders and colleagues in charge of a particular curriculum area in schools, including regular meetings between staff from schools across the city to share information and support each other, a yearly subject specific CPD conference and a point of contact for help and support when required. Led by a practicing subject specialist from one of our York schools.
2. Whole School Leadership:
A series of events for colleagues at Senior Leadership level to meet up and share information in one of four areas including Teaching & Learning, Pastoral, Sixth Form and Curriculum. Led by specialists recruited from one of our York schools or the Local Authority.
3. Support Staff:
A series of events, meetings and training opportunities for support staff including Teaching Assistants, Business Managers, Bursars, Site Managers, Catering Operatives and many others.
4. Teaching & Learning and Career Progression:
A whole series of courses to give colleagues a bespoke series of events to support colleagues along their CPD pathway at whatever career level they are presently at. Programmes include the Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT), the Recently Qualified Teacher (RQT), the Aspiring Middle Leader, the Outstanding Teacher and the Senior Leader. Each one giving a whole series of sessions to develop your current practice and support your new role or career aspirations.
5. Meeting the Needs:
Our most flexible and reactive area of CPD. A series of "one off" courses that are designed and timetabled to "meet the needs" of our schools. Based on what schools ask for, what is in the National Agenda and coming from our Subject Leader and Whole School Leadership meetings a set of courses to support, train and develop current teachers and leaders.
