STA moderation briefing for Headteachers

Target audience: Primary headteachers and assessment coordinators

Course leaders: Karron Young, City of York LA & Alison Bailey, Pathfinder TSA

Content:

This briefing, FREE for York schools and Pathfinder TSA affiliates, is jointly offered by York LA and Pathfinder TSA to support you in leading the statutory assessment and moderation process in your schools this summer.

The framework and approach to the statutory assessment and moderation of writing at Y2 and Y6 has changed for 2018.  STA is releasing subsidiary guidance (initially shared with LA delegates in November in preparation for statutory moderation) to schools on 22 January; this session is designed to provide a timely opportunity for leaders to become confident in how this should be applied in your school.

This morning session, 9-12, is for headteachers, who may wish to bring their assessment coordinator as well (booking two places).  The morning will focus on 2018 statutory writing assessment at KS1 and KS2, with clarification of the interpretation of the new 'pupil can' statements, and what is meant by 'more flexible approach', 'particular weakness', 'good reason', 'precedence'.

Please book either one or two places - space is limited and late bookings may have to be offered an alternative date.  You will not be able to attend unless you have booked through Eventbrite.

NOTES:

This course includes refreshments but not lunch.

There is plenty of parking at the school.

Please check the Pathfinder Website for all booking conditions including payment / refunds / cancellations.
