NQT - Newly Qualified Teachers

 

A programme for newly qualified teachers who are at the beginning of their careers in teaching and are looking for a programme to help them develop their skills and become outstanding teachers. The programme is a citywide collaborative approach from City of York Council and the Pathfinder Teaching School Alliance

NQT Welcome and Information Event

This session will be accessed by both primary and secondary NQTs. Mike Jory and Jake Capper will provide an introduction to the context of the local authority, provide statutory information and explain how to access support across the NQT year. Teaching unions will be present and it is also an opportunity for NQT colleagues to get to know each other.

A session with a variety of staff from last years NQTs to Middle Leaders to Senior Leaders giving their expertise through a series of short seminars on a whole range of areas pertinent to NQTs.

Celebration Event

Jointly held with primary and secondary NQTs from the local authority. A chance to raise a glass to t he success of the year and celebrate.

The cost of the programme is £200 per delegate. Then £150 for each subsequent NQT.
