Primary NQT Programme 2016-2017

The programme will:

Develop confidence in their teaching and understand the support that is available to them.

Get the best out of the year for themselves and the pupils they teach.

Understand what good and outstanding teaching looks like.

Be able to identify their own strengths and future areas for development through reflective practice.

Target audience:

Primary and secondary NQTs

Content:

This session will be accessed by both primary and secondary NQTs. Mike Jory will provide an introduction to the context of the authority, statutory information, and explain how to access support across the NQT year. Teaching Unions will be present, and it is also an opportunity for NQT colleagues to meet each other.

The National Agenda

The introduction to the day will cover the nation agenda for primary education. This will feature any relevant statutory changes in curriculum and assessment practices.
