Developmental Trauma and attachment: neuroscience, presentation and strategies

‘Understanding the experience of the abused or neglected child is an intervention in itself.’ Calmer Classrooms.This course is a must for all teachers.  You will learn what the risk factors are for children developing attachment issues, how this impacts on brain development and cognitive abilities as well as strategies to support children and young people in schools and manage your own response to challenging behaviours.

Understanding the role and responsibilities of being a Designated Teacher

This course is suitable for those new to the role of designated teacher, or as a refresher for experienced designated teachers, in explaining your statutory roles and responsibilities.  There will be the opportunity at the end to look at PEP forms and how to write SMART targets.

Action Research: Primary Focus Part 1

A course suitable for newly qualified teachers or teachers managing challenging behaviours in the classroom.

The first session of this course will use a book as a study guide and look at what strategies to trial in the classroom to manage challenging behaviours. Participants will then take the learning and trial it in their classrooms.
